Sore back and a sense of accomplishment. That’s what you get from liking your friend’s status. 🙂
Let me explain.
About a month ago a friend of mine who lives in Orangeville posted a call out from her local food bank for volunteers to help the organization to grow their vegetable gardens in the city. Of course, I was one of the first ones to respond!
So here we go, fast forward few weeks, rainy Sunday and I am on my way to Orangeville to check out their gardens and to meet the coordinator and other volunteers. I am really glad my left over seedlings were eventually put to a good use!
So here I arrive at the Garden Centre, but weather works only for frogs and maybe some Vancouver residents. Pouring rain, cold and windy. So after a brief meeting and intro we all decided to give gardening a rest and come back some other time.
For me that “other time” was today! Weather much more cooperative with tons of sun. Even my toddler was willing to listen – always a bonus.
Single-handedly dug out 8 garden beds and mulched the pathways. All in just over 2 hours. More volunteers are coming to plant this afternoon. Cannot wait to see pictures when it is all done!
